Creating Memories Across Generations: A Heartwarming Halloween with New Age Care

New Age Care News

Halloween is often synonymous with ghost stories, trick-or-treating, and spooky costumes, but this year, we’re giving it a delightful twist.

Our recent event at The Nelson Pub in Warwick brought together generations for a Halloween celebration focused on joy, creativity and connection — making this Halloween memorable for all ages.

A Different Kind of Halloween

Instead of traditional trick-or-treating, families gathered at the pub for an inclusive Halloween get- together.
Part of our ‘Meet and Mingle’ bi-weekly sessions, this event provided a secure and welcoming setting for clients and families alike to participate in Halloween fun without any of the usual worries about safety after dark.

Costumed children, parents, and New Age Care clients came together to share an afternoon filled with crafts, costumes, and plenty of laughs. For the children, it was Halloween like no other and for our clients, it was a unique chance to celebrate without sacrificing comfort or independence.

Sam Whittaker, CEO of New Age Care, described the joy in the room, saying, “It was heartwarming to see our clients fully engaged, dressing up and laughing alongside the children.”

The Power of Intergenerational Engagement

At New Age Care, we’re committed to promoting social engagement and combating loneliness among our clients. This  Halloween event offered more than seasonal fun; it was an opportunity to bridge generational gaps. For children, these interactions build empathy and an understanding of older generations. For older clients, the presence of young people brought energy, happiness and an added boost of confidence.

Such events align with our broader efforts, which include the monthly Wednesday Activity Club and Sunday Lunch Club. These events offer structured, regular opportunities for clients to engage, fostering connections and enriching their social lives.

Looking Forward

The next ‘Meet and Mingle’ session will take place at The Nelson Pub, Warwick, on Thursday, November 21st. These bi-weekly gatherings continue to be a wonderful way for clients, families, and the wider community to come together, share stories, and enjoy quality time.
