The CQC or Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. It ensures that health and social care services are safe, high-quality, effective, compassionate, and meet legal standards.

The Role of the CQC

They CQC out the fundamental standard used in order to ensure consistency. These are:

Dignity and Respect
Consent
Safety
Safeguarding from abuse
Food and Drink
Premises and Equipment
Complaints
Good Governance
Staffing
Fit and Proper Staff
Duty of Candour
Displays of Ratings

Key questions that the CQC ask

Are they safe?

Are you protected from abuse and avoidable harm.

Are they effective?

Does the care, treatment and support have good outcomes, helps to maintain a good quality of life and is based on available evidence.

Are they caring?

Are you treated with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.

Are they responsive to peoples needs?

Are the services organised so that they meet your needs.    

Are they well-led?

The leadership, management and governance of the organisation make sure it is providing high-quality care that is based around individual needs, that it encourages learning and innovation and that it promotes an open and fair culture.

The benefits of using a registered care service

In order to stay accredited by CQC, New Age Care have to comply with regulatory standards meaning that the care offered is of a high standard constantly.

Care services that are registered with the CQC are above par because they are constantly monitored and inspected to ensure the quality of their service.

Their findings are published in the public domain so their comments can be seen.

All carers are subject to a recruitment process that full complies with CQC regulations and are fully DBS checked.
All carers are trained to the nationally recognised standards included in the Care Certificate.

CQC can request a report at any time in the event of a serious incident and any care company accredited by them must comply with this.

CQC reviews Policies and Procedures to ensure that they are current, appropriate and include changes in law.

Clients can also provide feedback to CQC meaning that reviews on their site are genuine.
